Wow, what a beautiful week. I certainly spoke too soon saying outdoor sessions were done. Was very fortunate to slip quite a few sessions in outdoors with this bonus week of beautiful Fall weather.

This one just cracks me up! I just love the pure joy and giggles captured with these beautiful bros!

I got to try some new ‘moves’ while a couple very talented sisters showed me their ‘moves’. It was fun experimenting with lighting, materials and fans. Thanks for all the jumps and spins girls….we got some great pics from your session yesterday!

Nov. 1-7 is Down Syndrome Awareness week, and the launch of what has been a Summer (and Fall) long project. In June I met with many of the kids involved with the Down Syndrome Association of Peterborough, at a beautiful farm location, and over a couple of days volunteered to capture some beautiful faces for the 2012/2013 Down Syndrome Calendar!  I am so excited to see everything come together….. after shooting, sorting, designing, proofing, proofing and more proofing….the Calendar is ready!! It has been such an honour to be a part of this wonderful project.

And to kick off the week, I designed 3 ads to be showcased for the month on Peterborough buses. I got a chance, while in town yesterday, to capture a couple of the buses with the ads on. I have to admit, it is REALLY cool to see my work displayed this way. Very exciting.

This is always a bitter-sweet time of year for me. After a wonderful Spring/ Summer and especially Fall season shooting outdoors, using all of the glorious light and backdrops that nature has to offer, it’s time to head back into the studio for winter. I spent time inside with some familiar and some new faces, and ended the week with a cool but fabulous last outdoor session (unless this sunny and not too cold weather continues for just a little longer…I won’t count outside out quite yet:).

Fall is such a perfect time of year to use the beautiful outdoors as the perfect ‘backdrop’, but it can be difficult to schedule around all of the cold and rainy weather. The last four days have been no exception. We had to dodge rain, wind and cold….but we managed to pull it all together beautifully. And a big thank you to my very generous friends for letting us use their ‘picture perfect’ barn….it’s quickly become one of my favourite places to shoot.
